Marcel Jean (Canadá / Canada)
Desde 2012, es director artístico del Festival Internacional de Cine de Animación de Annecy. También es director ejecutivo de la Cinemateca Quebequense en Montreal, Canadá, desde mayo de 2015. Licenciado en cine y literatura por la Universidad de Montreal, es autor de varios libros sobre cine de animación y cine canadiense. Fue conservador de animación en la Cinemateca Quebequense de 1996 a 1998 y en 1999 pasó a ser director del estudio de animación para el programa francés de la Junta Nacional de Cine de Canadá. Mientras trabajaba allí, produjo y coprodujo varias películas galardonadas internacionalmente, entre ellas Black Soul (Martine Chartrand, 2001), Aria (Pjotr Sapegin, 2001), Accordion (Michèle Cournoyer, 2004), L’homme sans ombre (Georges Schwizgebel, 2004), Tragic Story with Happy Ending (Regina Pessoa, 2006), Sleeping Betty (Claude Cloutier, 2007), entre otras. En 2005 dejó la NFB y se convirtió en productor de Central Unit Productions, donde produjo animación y acción real, incluyendo el largometraje Arwad (Samer Najari y Dominique Chila, 2013). Ha impartido clases de historia y estética del cine de animación en la Universidad de Montreal entre 1986 y 2012 y fue director del programa de documentales del Institut national de l’image et son (INIS) de Montreal entre 2012 y 2015.
Since 2012, he is the Artistic Director of the Annecy International Animation Film Festival. He is also the Executive Director of the Cinematheque quebecoise in Montreal, Canada, since may 2015. A film and literature graduate of Montreal University, he is the author of several books on animation film and Canadian cinema. He was curator of animation at the Cinematheque québécoise from 1996 to 1998 and in 1999 he became head of the animation studio for French program at the National Film Board of Canada. While working there he produced or co-produced several internationally awarded films, including Black Soul (Martine Chartrand, 2001), Aria (Pjotr Sapegin, 2001), Accordion (Michèle Cournoyer, 2004), L’homme sans ombre (Georges Schwizgebel, 2004), Tragic Story with Happy Ending (Regina Pessoa, 2006), Sleeping Betty (Claude Cloutier, 2007), etc. He has left the NFB in 2005 and became producer at Central Unit Productions, where he produced animation and live action, including the feature Arwad (Samer Najari and Dominique Chila, 2013). He has taught history and aesthetic of animation film at the University of Montreal from 1986 to 2012 and was the Director of the documentary program at the Institut national de l’image et son (INIS) in Montreal, from 2012 to 2015.
Carla Vulpiani (Italia / Italy)
Consultora de Cortometrajes para el Festival Internacional de Cine de Venecia, específicamente en la Sección Competitiva: Orizzonti Short Film. Con una experiencia en Estudios Culturales y Prácticas Documentales en Milán, empezó su carrera como programadora y co-directora artística del Milano Film Festival (2016-2017), además de co-fundar y dirigir Varicoloured Holistic Film Agency hasta 2021. Especializada en la animación y el formato corto, es productora en el estudio irlandes And maps and plans, que se enfoca en la animación hecha a mano para públicos adultos. También trabaja como lectora y consultora de distintos eventos de la industria cinematográfica, especialmente en animación y realidad extendida (XR) para ShorTO Film Market en Turín. Lidera el Foro de Animación, Mercados de Coproducción y Pitch en el MIA | Mercato Internazionale Audiovisivo en Roma. En 2025 fundó su propia compañía de producción y publicación independiente: Adriatic Hood
Short film advisor for the Venice International Film Festival, in the Orizzonti Short Film Competition section. With a solid background in Cultural Studies and Documentary Practice in Milan, she began her career as a programmer and artistic co-director of the Milano Film Festival (2016-2017) and co-founded and led Varicoloured Holistic Film Agency until 2021. Specialising in animation and short formats, she is a producer at the Irish studio And maps and plans, which focuses on handcrafted animation for adult audiences. She also serves as a reader and consultant to different industry events, and especially for animation and extended reality (XR) at ShorTO Film Market in Turin. She heads the animation Co-Production Market and Pitching Forum at MIA | Mercato Internazionale Audiovisivo in Rome. In 2025 she founded her own production&publishing company Adriatic Hood.
Federico Atehortua (Colombia / Colombia)
Director y guionista. Licenciado en Dirección Cinematográfica por la Universidad del Cine (Buenos Aires) y Máster en Documental de Creación por la Universidad Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona). Su primer largometraje, Pirotecnia (2019), se estrenó en el Festival de Cine de Róterdam, además de proyectarse en DocumentaMadrid, Shanghái y DocMontevideo. Fue montajista de Mudos testigos (2023), ganadora en el BAFICI, y dirigió la serie Un destino más concluyente (2022). Su segundo largometraje, Forenses (2025), recibió el Premio Especial del Jurado en Karlovy Vary. Es docente en la Universidad de los Andes, la Universidad Central y en el Taller de Cine de Invasión Cine, productora cinematográfica independiente.
Director and screenwriter. He holds a degree in Film Directing from the Universidad del Cine (Buenos Aires) and a Master‘s degree in Creative Documentary from Pompeu Fabra University (Barcelona). His first feature film, Pirotecnia (2019), premiered at the Rotterdam Film Festival, as well as being screened at DocumentaMadrid, Shanghai, and DocMontevideo. He was the editor of Mudos testigos (2023), winner at BAFICI, and directed the series Un destino más concluyente (2022). His second feature film, Forenses (2025), received the Special Jury Prize at Karlovy Vary. He teaches at the Universidad de los Andes, the Universidad Central, and at the Invasión Cine Film Workshop, an independent film production company.
