¿Habitamos el cuerpo que queremos? Ensayo y puesta en escena trans / Do we inhabit the body we want? Trans essay and staging
El video ensayo ha sido un formato heredero del ensayo fílmico, que se asocia tanto con el cine de autor como con prácticas experimentales. Diferentes necesidades narrativas adoptan este formato para dar cuenta de sus discursos y registrar de manera íntima realidades políticas. En este panel participarán Daniela Maldonado, fundadora de la Red Comunitaria Trans de Bogotá, quien tiñe su activismo de arte para narrar el cuerpo y el ánimo de su lucha, y Agustina Comedi, guionista y directora argentina que en su último cortometraje, ‘PlayBack: ensayo de una despedida’, cuenta a través de imágenes de archivo cómo una comunidad trans de Córdoba, Argentina, hizo de los playbacks y los vestidos improvisados su arma y su trinchera, mientras morían, una a una. Ellas nos contarán cómo tejiendo arte y denuncia encontraron una narrativa. Como preparación a esta charla, se proyectarán los cortometrajes ‘Playback: ensayo de una despedida’ y ‘Continuum’ (ES-CON) en la plazoleta de CityU el sábado 12 de diciembre a las 8:00 p.m.
Video essay, heir of the film essay, is associated with both auteur cinema and experimental practices. Different narrative needs adopt this format to give an account of their discourses and to record political realities in an intimate way. This panel will include Daniela Maldonado, founder of the Trans Community Network of Bogotá, who colors her art with activism to narrate the body and spirit of her struggle; and Agustina Comedi, Argentine screenwriter and director who in her latest short film, ‘Playback: ensayo de una despedida‘, tells through archive images how a trans community from Córdoba, Argentina, made playbacks and improvised dresses their weapon and their trench, while they died, one by one. They will tell us how by weaving art and denouncement they found a narrative. In preparation for this talk, the short films ‘Playback: ensayo de una despedida’ and ‘Continuum’ (ES-CON) will be screened at the CityU plaza on Saturday, December 12 at 8:00 p.m.
