Al mudarse a un nuevo hogar, Seonyoung, una niña mitad coreana, mitad china, teme ser rechazada debido a sus raíces chinas. Un día, ella y su abuela encuentran una tortuga y la llevan a casa. A través de la tortuga y los eventos que se desenvuelven debido a ella, Seonyoung aprende una valiosa lección de vida: está bien tomar tiempo para aceptarse a uno mismo, sin importar las opiniones ajenas.
After moving to a new home, Seonyoung, a half-Korean, half-Chinese girl, fears being rejected because of her Chinese roots. One day, she and her grandmother find a turtle. Seonyoung convinces her grandmother to bring it home. The events that unfold thanks to her new friend teach Seonyoung a valuable life lesson: its okay to take time to accept yourself, regardless of other peoples opinions.
Yara Gari
Yara Gari es una joven colombiana de 25 años. En 2017, el gobierno de Corea del Sur le otorgó una beca en Medios y Comunicaciones en la Universidad de Corea. Después de graduarse, obtuvo otra beca para realizar una Maestría en Dirección de Cine en la Universidad Nacional de las Artes de Corea.
Yara Gari es una cineasta comprometida con amplificar las voces de las minorías, y llevar sus obras cinematográficas a una audiencia global, uniendo culturas a través del poder de la narración visual.
Yara Gari is a 25-year-old Colombian. In 2017, the South Korean government awarded her a scholarship in Media and Communications at Korea University. After graduating, she earned another scholarship to pursue a Master's Degree in Film Directing at the Korea National University of Arts.
Yara Gari is a filmmaker committed to amplifying minority voices, and bringing her works to a global audience, bridging cultures through the power of visual storytelling.
