Xiaohui es un niño que vive con su abuelo en un pueblo en el Suroeste de China. Sus padres trabajan en la ciudad, lejos de su casa. Su abuelo quiere vender el ternero para tener un sustento económico. Para evitarlo, Xiaohui hace todo lo posible para esconder las vacas en las montañas.
Xiaohui, a nine-year-old boy, lives with his grandfather in a village in Southwest China, while his parents work far away from home. Xiaohui’s grandpa does cow business for the family and he intends to sell the calf. In order to stop grandpa, Xiaohui tries every possible way to hide the baby cow and the mother cow in the mountains.

Xinying Lao
Xinying Lao nació en Guangxi, China, en 1997. Es directora, guionista y editora, y estudiante en la New York University. Realizó varios cortometrajes documentales y de ficción. Estudió periodismo y eso la llevó a conocer personas de diversas clases sociales. En sus films, se dedica a converger la vulnerabilidad que las personas temen expresar. Xiaohui and his cows es un film realizado en su segundo año al NYU.
Xinying Lao was born in Guangxi, China in 1997. Xinying Lao is a Chinese filmmaker and a third-year Graduate Film student at New York University. She is a director, writer, and editor. She has made several doc shorts and narrative shorts. She studied journalism as an undergraduate, which brought her into contact with people from different classes in society. In her films, she is dedicated to conveying the vulnerability that people are afraid to express in reality.
