En el Caribe colombiano, un grupo de activistas queer practica una militancia que desafía las normas heteropatriarcales al tiempo que se compromete con otras causas para luchar contra las injusticias sociales que asolan la región. Cuando la dirección de la mayor mina de carbón del país anuncia una rueda de prensa para promover el desarrollo de la minería, el grupo se prepara para llevar a cabo una acción performativa de denuncia... y decididamente queer.
In the Colombian Caribbean, a group of queer activists practice a militancy that challenges heteropatriarchal norms, while engaging in other causes to fight against the social injustices that plague the region. When the management of the country s largest coal mine announces a press conference to promote the development of mining, the group prepares to carry out a denunciatory performative action... and absolutely queer.
Jorge Cadena
Barranquilla, Colombia, 1985. Estudió fotografía en Buenos Aires. En 2016, obtuvo su licenciatura en cine en Geneva con su película 'Antonia's Tale', que recibió el Premio Tiger en el Festival de Rotterdam en 2017. Obtuvo su maestría en Ecal/Head en 2018 con la película 'Las Hermanas Jarariju' que recibieron altos honores del Jurado y obtuvieron una Mención Especial del Jurado Internacional en la Berlinale 2019.
Barranquilla, Colombia, 1985. Studied photography in Buenos Aires. In 2016, he gained his bachelor degree in film at Head Geneva with his film 'Antonia’s Tale', which was awarded with the Tiger Award at the Rotterdam Festival in 2017. He obtained his master degree at Ecal/Head in 2018 with the film 'The Jarariju Sisters' that received high honours from the Jury and got a Special Mention of the International Jury at the Berlinale 2019.
