La felicidad aborda la nostalgia y el recuerdo hacia mi hermano fallecido. Desde entonces, solamente pienso en él e intento recrear alguna imagen que todavía pueda unirnos, que todavía pueda hacerme sentir, algún rasgo de felicidad, alguna imagen, que me devuelva su imagen y la mía, juntos, preciosos, eternos.
Happiness deals with the nostalgia and remembrance of my late brother. Since then, I can only think of him and try to recreate some image that might still connect us, that might still allow me to feel—some trace of happiness, some image that can bring back his image and mine, together, precious, eternal.
Paz Encina
Paz Encina nació en Asunción, Paraguay. Es licenciada en Cine por la Universidad del Cine de Buenos Aires. Estrenó Hamaca Paraguaya (Cannes 2006, FIPRESCI), Ejercicios de Memoria (San Sebastián 2016) y Eami (Rotterdam 2022, Tiger Award). Miembro de la Academia desde 2020, recibió la beca Radcliffe Fellowship en Harvard en 2022. Sus obras se han exhibido en el MoMA, la Fondation Cartier y el Harvard Film Archive. Fundó Silencio Cine (2005) y Silencio Lab (2015).
Paz Encina was born in Asunción, Paraguay. She holds a degree in Filmmaking from Universidad del Cine in Buenos Aires. She premiered Hamaca Paraguaya (Cannes 2006, FIPRESCI), Ejercicios de Memoria (San Sebastián 2016), and Eami (Rotterdam 2022, Tiger Award). A member of the Academy since 2020, she received the Radcliffe Fellowship at Harvard in 2022. Her works have been shown at MoMA, Fondation Cartier, and the Harvard Film Archive. She founded Silencio Cine (2005) and Silencio Lab (2015).
