En el 2004, un grupo de personas armadas se tomaron Bahía Portete en la alta Guajira, y dejaron el territorio desolado por varios años hasta que sus pobladores empezaron a retornar. PORTETE se sitúa entre la vida y la muerte, a través de una voz que sale de la tierra para hablar de los recuerdos y del olvido. Las ruinas del pueblo se mezclan con los llantos colectivos de los rostros ya borrosos de la gente que vivía en él, hasta que la tarde termina por atenuar también las sombras.
In 2004, a group of armed people took over Bahía Portete in the upper Guajira, and they left the territory desolate for several years until its inhabitants began to return. PORTETE is situated between life and death, through a voice that comes out of the earth to speak of memories and oblivion. The ruins of the town are mixed with the collective cries of the already blurred faces of the people who lived in it, until the afternoon ends up also attenuating the shadows.
César Jaimes
Bogotano nacido en 1993, es fotógrafo y cineasta, cofundador de Los Niños Films, productora con la que estrenará en 2025 su largometraje Carropasajero. Produjo los cortometrajes Río Muerto y Portete, ambos con presencia en festivales nacionales e internacionales, y reconocimientos como Mejor Cortometraje en el Festival de Popayán. Su ópera prima Lapü, codirigida con César Jaimes, tuvo estreno mundial en Sundance y europeo en Berlinale 2019, recorriendo numerosos festivales alrededor del mundo. Lapü también recibió estímulos del Fondo de Desarrollo Cinematográfico y participó en el taller Dok.Incubator. Los Niños Films no solo produce cine, sino también talleres y laboratorios que promueven la creación cinematográfica en Colombia.
Born in Bogotá in 1993, he is a photographer and filmmaker, co-founder of Los Niños Films, a production company with which he will release his feature film Carropasajero in 2025. He produced the short films Río Muerto and Portete, both of which have been screened at national and international festivals and won awards such as Best Short Film at the Popayán Festival. His debut feature film Lapü, co-directed with César Jaimes, had its world premiere at Sundance and its European premiere at Berlinale 2019, touring numerous festivals around the world. Lapü also received support from the Film Development Fund and participated in the Dok.Incubator workshop. Los Niños Films not only produces films, but also workshops and laboratories that promote filmmaking in Colombia.
Juan Pablo Polanco
Bogotano nacido en 1994, estudió Bellas Artes con énfasis audiovisual en la Universidad Javeriana y dirección cinematográfica en la ECAM (Madrid). Cofundador de Los Niños Films, ha trabajado en fotografía, sonido y guion en obras como Portete, seleccionada en festivales internacionales. Su ópera prima Lapü, codirigida con César Alejandro Jaimes, tuvo estreno mundial en Sundance y europeo en Berlinale 2019, participando luego en numerosos festivales alrededor del mundo y recibiendo apoyos como el FDC. Además de producir cine, impulsa talleres y laboratorios de formación cinematográfica. En 2025 estrenará su segundo largometraje, Carropasajero.
Born in Bogotá in 1994, he studied Fine Arts with an emphasis on audiovisual media at the Javeriana University and film directing at ECAM (Madrid). Co-founder of Los Niños Films, he has worked in photography, sound, and screenwriting on projects such as Portete, which was selected for international festivals. His debut film Lapü, co-directed with César Alejandro Jaimes, had its world premiere at Sundance and its European premiere at Berlinale 2019, subsequently participating in numerous festivals around the world and receiving support from organizations such as the FDC. In addition to producing films, he promotes filmmaking workshops and training labs. In 2025, he will release his second feature film, Carropasajero.
