En el corazón del Magdalena Medio, nos embarcamos en un viaje en moto-mesa que explora los intrincados paralelismos y contradicciones entre la vida y la muerte en los antiguos ferrocarriles nacionales de Colombia, y la fragilidad de una comunidad de moto-meseros que dio vida a estas vías olvidadas. El futuro que fuimos se adentra en las historias cotidianas de los ferrocarriles abandonados en la frontera de Antioquia y Santander, examinando las intersecciones entre la fragilidad de la vida y la finalidad de la muerte.
In the heart of the Magdalena Medio, we embark on a moto-mesa journey that explores the intricate parallels and contradictions between life and death in Colombias old national railways, and the fragility of a community of moto-meseros that brought these forgotten tracks to life. The Future We Were delves into the everyday stories of the abandoned railways on the border of Antioquia and Santander, examining the intersections between the fragility of life and the finality of death.
Sebastian Carrasco
(Bogotá, 1986) Artista visual con estudios en la Universidad de Los Andes y un MFA en Bellas Artes de Hunter College, NY. Su obra ha sido expuesta en Bogotá (Liberia Central Contemporánea, Espacio Odeón, SGR Galería) y en Nueva York (Glass House ArtLifeLab, Hunter College Galleries). Ganó el Premio Joven Artista de la Embajada de España (2019) y el de la Universidad de Los Andes (2020), además de un reconocimiento especial en el premio de tesis C12 de Nueva York (2015).
(Bogotá, 1986) Visual artist with studies at the Universidad de Los Andes and an MFA in Fine Arts from Hunter College, NY. His work has been exhibited in Bogotá (Liberia Central Contemporánea, Espacio Odeón, SGR Galería) and in New York (Glass House ArtLifeLab, Hunter College Galleries). He won the Young Artist Award from the Embassy of Spain (2019) and the Universidad de Los Andes (2020), as well as special recognition in the C12 Thesis Award in New York (2015).
