México, 1864. Tres soldados rasos son enviados a recuperar un botín de guerra en un bosque presuntamente acechado por monstruos. Justino es mestizo y despreocupado. Remigio, indígena e ingenuo. Manuel, un niño rico: blanco, bello y prepotente. Al adentrarse en territorio salvaje, la presencia de los “tekuani”, bestias legendarias capaces de hechizar a quien los mire a los ojos, los obliga a enfrentar la naturaleza de sus verdaderos instintos.
In 1864, three Mexican soldiers—Justino, a carefree mestizo; Remigio, naive, young and indigenous; and Manuel, an arrogant, handsome white man—are dispatched to a forest rumored to be haunted by monsters. Their mission: to recover war loot. As they journey into this untamed wilderness, they encounter the “tekuani”, legendary beasts said to bewitch anyone who looks them in the eyes. The presence of these creatures forces the men to confront their true instincts.
