Set in the American South just before the 2016 presidential elections, 'To Sonny' follows a vending machine loader on his daily, lonely route.
El hombre da forma a su entorno, que da forma a su cerebro. A doscientos kilómetros de Beijing, hombres viven en una cantera de piedra en medio de rocas que esperan ser partidas, cortadas y lijadas para formar esculturas. Los mismos gestos vuelven una y otra vez, para escribir una historia de deterioro y reparación. Al hacer monumentos, la historia se borra.
Man shapes his environment, which shapes his brain. Two hundred kilometres from Beijing, men live in a stone quarry amidst rocks that are waiting to be hacked, cut and sanded into sculptures. The same gestures come back again and again, to write a history of deterioration and repair. In the making of monuments, history is obliterated.
Mientras los primeros asistentes esperan afuera en el frío, la Ópera de Kiev está despertando lentamente. De repente, la gente del exterior inunda los pasillos y salas de la Ópera. While the first guests are waiting outside in the cold, the Opera House of Kyiv is slowly awaking. All of a sudden the people from the outside are flooding the corridors and halls of the Opera. People of all ages and classes join together on this evening to become a big homogeneous audience. The foyer turns into a stage while the spectators and workers become actors.
Nebahat, una maestra de unos 20 años, acaba de ser asignada a una escuela de una aldea rural en Anatolia. Se da cuenta de que sus alumnos están luchando por llegar a la escuela, haciendo autostop y utilizando cualquier medio que puedan encontrar. Nebahat, a teacher in her 20s, has just been appointed to a rural village school in Anatolia. She realizes that her students are struggling to arrive at school, hitchhiking tractors, using whatever means they can find. She asks the Ministry of Education for a shuttle, but without a driver, the vehicle is useless. So, she decides to be the bus driver for her students but, there is a small problem!
Viajando sola por el norte de la India, Sonia Feldmeier es testigo de la espectacular tala de un árbol: siete leñadores talan un antiguo y sagrado árbol Peepul con sierras de mano y hachas. Travelling alone through Northern India, Sonia Feldmeier witnesses the spectacular felling of a tree: An ancient, holy peepul tree is being cut down by seven lumbermen using handsaws and axes. Over the course of several days, she films their undertaking. She is in the thick of the activity, the language barrier however impedes verbal communication. From this subjective experience she creates audio portraits, which provide each lumberjack with their own individual musical presence in the film.

Starting out as a home nurse, Lieve braves the windy weather on her moped to assist her elderly patients. She has a big heart and tries her hardest to fulfill the wishes of all her patients to the best of her abilities. The biggest challenge she faces is learning to respect her own boundaries.
