Desde edad temprana ha estado involucrado con el trabajo en fotografía y cámara. Estudió dirección de fotografía y producción de cine en la Escuela Báltica de Cine, Medios, Artes y Comunicación de la Universidad de Tallin. Ha participado en la realización de documentales como director de fotografía y como director, y también ha producido cortometrajes de ficción. Está comprometido con el desarrollo del panorama cinematográfico de Estonia y del campo de los cortometrajes, llevando este formato a la pantalla grande de todas las maneras posibles. Lo ha hecho desde 2013 con la organización y dirección del Festival Internacional de Cortometrajes Sleepwalkers, la fundación en 2014 del Centro del Cortometraje de Estonia, y el desarrollo actual del Baltic Preview en el Festival de Cine Tallin Black Nights - PÖFF. He has been involved with photography and camera work from an early age. He studied cinematography and film production at the Baltic Film, Media, Arts and Communication School of the University of Tallinn. He has participated in the making of documentaries as a cinematographer and director, and has also produced fiction short films. He is committed to the development of the Estonian film scene and the field of short films, taking this format to the big screen in every possible way. He has done this since 2013 with the organization and direction of the International Sleepwalkers Short Film Festival, the founding of the Estonian Short Film Centre in 2014, and the current development of the Baltic Preview at the Black Nights Tallinn Film Festival - PÖFF. He also works in Lithuania as co-organizer of the Baltic Pitching Forum in Vilnius and artistic director of the European Film Festival Go Debut in Klaipeda.

Estudió Ciencias de la Comunicación con especialidad en Medios Audiovisuales. Durante nueve años fue director de programación del Short Shorts Film Festival México, el cual luego dirigió entre 2010 y 2014. Desde su labor en el campo audiovisual ha promovido ampliamente el formato del cortometraje, siendo director de programación del Festival Internacional de Cine de la Ciudad de México - Cine Capital, miembro del comité de selección y del equipo de programación del Riviera Maya Film Festival, y curador para diversos programas de cine en la Cineteca Nacional y varios festivales internacionales. Actualmente, es director de la Licenciatura en Cine de la Universidad de la Comunicación. También es director y productor de Zycra Films, compañía enfocada en la producción y distribución de cine independiente. Además, es fundador y director artístico de Black Canvas - Festival de Cine Contemporáneo (Ciudad de México). Actualmente se encuentra en la postproducción de su primer largometraje ‘Reino de los ciclos’.
He studied Communication Sciences with a specialization in Audiovisual Media. For nine years he was the programming director of the Short Shorts Film Festival México, which he directed between 2010 and 2014. From his work in the audiovisual field, he has widely promoted the format of the short film, being programming director of the International Film Festival of Mexico City - Cine Capital, member of the selection committee and the programming team of the Riviera Maya Film Festival, and curator of various film programs at Cineteca Nacional and several international festivals. Currently, he is director of the BA in Cinema program at Universidad de la Comunicación. He is also the director and producer of Zycra Films, a company focused on the production and distribution of independent films. In addition, he is the founder and artistic director of Black Canvas - Contemporary Film Festival (Mexico City). He is currently in the post-production of his first feature film ‘Reino de los ciclos‘.

Director de las revistas Bocas, DONJUAN y Habitar, y consejero editorial de Lecturas, de El Tiempo. También es autor de las novelas ‘¡Salta cachorro!’, ‘Microbio’, ‘Muérdeme suavemente’ y ‘La soledad del cuarto oscuro’. Adicionalmente, ha expuesto sus fotografías en la Feria del Millón. Ganó un premio Simón Bolívar de periodismo en el 2007. Ha sido columnista de artes plásticas de El Tiempo y Semana. Anteriormente, fue editor y parte del equipo fundador de la revista Gatopardo y autor de la historia original de ‘Alguien mató algo’ (1999), un cortometraje de Jorge Navas.
