The arrival of man on the moon took place in a very special context, although the first experiments to transmit a signal in developed countries were in the 30s; by 1969, the year of the moon landing, many of the countries of the world had already introduced television in their respective populations, for something it was the most watched event in its time, with 600 million viewers, the fifth part of the world population by then.

In this talk we will discuss how man resignifies his own existence and his scope from this arrival, looking at the new meanings during these 50 years, the way of thinking about the image, the media and the accelerated technological development both in the audiovisual field, as in aerospace. Those who have thought about these deep relationships will give us an overview of the exchange and parallel advances of these industries that definitely have several aspects in common.

Guests: Óscar Guarín, Associate Professor of the Department of History and coordinator of SensoLab, and Mario Armando Higuera Garzón, an astronomer, works at the National Astronomical Observatory.
